About Us

HAM Radio Club is a part of a global brotherly fraternity. We were founded by Professor Mr. K. Henry, Chief of Electronics Department, call sign AI4PJ on April 2007. Our main aim is to help our students become interested in the Industrial Electronics Technology Field. The purpose of our College HAM Radio Club is to become a self discipline group of college students trained operators as members of the national association of Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) trained operators. We pursue this hobby for pure personal growth in technical knowledge, sponsor annual events to get the College students and the surrounding community involved. We take pleasure by stimulating them in the need for open air communications and its usefulness through actual emergency base station staging and other HAM Field Days events. Our Repeater operating frequency is 444.225 MHz with a positive (+) offset with a Tone Frequency of 100Hz. Our wavelength is 70 Cm. Our call sign is N4DTC and our repeater station is sponsored by College HAM Radio Club. Any questions about our club should be directed to Professor Henry at 256-551-1709 or email: henryk@drakestate.edu. We have an annual membership drive and due fee of $25.00. The funds are used for equipment maintenance, activity purposes and funding office materials as needed. (Modified: 4-16-10)
